Hey!👋 I’m Adriana.
I’m a mixed-Asian American Buddhist scholar, meditation teacher, facilitator, and parent. I believe Buddhist practice has the power to support radical transformation, not just for individuals, but for society as a whole. This newsletter is a place where I share reflections, essays, and resources on the intersection of dharma and radical social change.
Here are a few posts to give you a taste of my writing:
Standard features include a monthly Q&A podcast called Ask a Buddhist Ethicist along with Rad Reads, a monthly round-up of articles, events, and programs related to spiritual activism and socially engaged Buddhism.
Why Radical Change?
Join the community!
I host monthly book talks and seminars for an awesome group of organizers, activists, engaged meditators, and justice-minded Buddhists right here on Substack. As a paid subscriber, you'll get access to:
The Engaged Dharma Book Club: We dive into six political texts each year, exploring them through the lens of dharma.
The Engaged Buddhist Studies Seminars: I teach workshops throughout the year, focused on the intersection of dharma and social change.
Ask a Buddhist Ethicist Podcast: Paid subscribers can submit questions to the monthly Q&A podcast for me to research and explore in an upcoming episode.
Founding subscribers also receive a special bonus: a 1:1 meditation mentorship call with me via Zoom. If you’d like to join but can’t afford a subscription right now, simply send me a message at ad@adrianadifazio.com.
Want to work together?
I offer Engaged Buddhism & Meditation Mentoring. I support you as you deepen your meditation practice, understanding of the dharma, and apply it the nuances of your personal life, work, and organizing.
If you’re interested in an one-off Buddhist counseling session, you can reach out to me at ad@adrianadifazio.com to schedule a time.
You can also find my guided meditations via the Insight Timer app and self-study courses on my website. All my live teaching is currently offered through this online community.
Thank you for being here
If you enjoy my writing, consider subscribing, re-stacking, liking, or sharing it with others! If you’re able to become a paid subscriber, thank you for making this work possible. This is my full-time job, and your support helps sustain both me and my family. In return, I hope to share a translation of the dharma that is relevant, meaningful, and insightful.
I hold a BA from Barnard College in Urban Studies and a Masters of Divinity in Buddhism from Union Theological Seminary in NYC. My dharma practice is rooted in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, the lineage of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
