The second Engaged Dharma Book Club is this upcoming Sunday, March 30th 3-5pm ET. If you’d like to join, you can upgrade now and register for the Zoom link below. You’ll also gain access to all the upcoming workshops, book clubs, and weekly meditation gatherings along with their replays.

Dear friends,

The Next American Revolution may not be a traditional dharma book, but it is infused with Grace Lee Boggs’ embodied wisdom. She writes:

“These are the times that try our souls. Each of us needs to undergo a tremendous philosophical and spiritual transformation. Each of us needs to be awakened to a personal and compassionate recognition of the inseparable interconnection between our minds, hearts, and bodies; between our physical and psychical well-being; and between our selves and all the other selves in our country and world.”

As engaged meditators and Dharma practitioners, how can we surrender more deeply into our spiritual practice while also creating new forms of what Grace calls “transformative organizing”? How can we cultivate a deeper sense of embodied knowing through both our Buddhist and political practices, becoming “organic intellectuals” like Jimmy? In times of fascism and genocide, how can the dharma help us develop both unwavering spiritual conviction and the dialectical thinking necessary to meet these crises with wisdom and compassion?

These are just a few of the questions we’ll grapple with together at the live Zoom discussion this Sunday, March 30th from 3-5pm ET. We’ll start with introductions and a guided meditation, followed by small and large group discussions.

Jessica Angima
, a fellow meditation teacher, organizer, and dear friend will be co-facilitating.

If you haven’t read or finished the book by this Sunday, please don’t hesitate to join. It will be wonderful to be in community and practice together.

Looking forward to it,
Adriana
